Precise geometry.
Hidden mechanics.
One of several projects for Guardian: a 3D film about lock cylinders. Beneath their simple exterior is a complex mechanism that we had to study and show in detail.

Understand the mechanism.
We needed to communicate the construction of the cylinders accurately. That meant understanding how parts interact, the role of springs and reinforcing inserts, and features invisible from the outside.
The geometry of every component.
We studied how the mechanisms work and carefully modelled small components. Close-ups, 3D disassembly and moving parts show relationships that are difficult to explain through conventional product filming.
Lock cylinders in 3D.
We produced a product film combining exterior views with detailed explanations of the internal mechanism. Lighting and camera angles reveal the shapes, metal surfaces and individual components.
Reveal what is inside.
3D makes a technical product understandable without physically dismantling it for the viewer. This approach helps present mechanisms to customers and partners who need to understand their construction as well as their appearance.
